Fr. Emmanuel participates in Vatican “Path of Nonviolence” Conference in Rome
Early this month, I had the honor of participating in a conference in Rome on “Path of Nonviolence: Towards a Culture of Peace. Organized by Pax Christi International and the Vatican Dicastery for the Promotion of Integral Human Development, the two day conference reflected on the Christian call to nonviolence in the midst of various forms of violence, including violence against creation. See full story here.At the conference, I was once again reminded of the significance of various efforts, including BLI, that seek to respond to the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. As pope Francis reminds us: “We need to be artisans of peace, for building peace that is a craft that demands serenity, creativity, sensitivity and skills.” (Pope Francis, Apostolic Exhortation Gaudate et Exultate, 19 March 2018).
